Parents Tool Talk Radio "Reducing Teen Dating Violence"

This October on the Parents Tool Talk Radio Show, we will discuss teen dating and offer practical advice for parents whose teen may be in an abusive relationship.

Our special guest expert is Char Kamper, CFLE. Char holds a Master's Degree in Family Studies from Loma Linda University, Loma Linda, CA. She is co-author of Being Yourself: Experiencing Success in Relationships, and has authored multiple nationally-recognized youth relationship education programs, including Connections: Dating and Connections and One, and Connections: Relationships and Marriage.

Some of the topics we will discuss include:

  • How big of a problem is teen dating?
  • What an abusive relationship looks like.
  • How date rape differs when it happens on a first date, rather than in an ongoing relationship.
  • What parents can do when their teen is in an abusive relationship.
  • How parents can support their teens during a break-up.
  • What role parents can play in helping their teens have healthy relationships.
  • And as always, your questions
